Summer Fun at Morey’s Pier

We had two back-to-back weekends of family fun at Morey’s Pier! LU2011 Painters Day was held on Saturday, July 13 and LU252 Glaziers Weekend took place the following Saturday. We tackled the summer heat at the waterpark, amusement park, boardwalk, and more.

Thanks to all who joined us. We’re already looking forward to next year!

Volunteering at the Veterans Multi-Service Center

We’re proud of the Local 252 members who volunteered at the Veterans Multi-Service Center in Philadelphia. They installed three sets of doors donated by the Architectural Glass & Metal Association (AGMA). The Multi-Service Center is a nationally recognized non-profit organization and has been providing comprehensive services to military veterans since 1980.

Eight glaziers took part in the project, and noted they were honored to lend a helping hand to our nation’s bravest.

“It felt good to be able to give back, and help serve those who served,” said Drew Harrison of Levittown, PA.

“Once I received the call to help, [I saw it as] a call to service,” said Hayward Kittrell of Philadelphia. “Helping out in our community is a plus. It gives the community a chance to see the positive things that we do!”

“I was honored to help the veterans out, and extremely proud to take part in this action,” noted Brian Ford of Philadelphia.

Kevin Cleary, Zach Kaiser, Joseph Morasco, Joe McGee, and Roberto Rios were also among the volunteers.

Great job, Local 252!

Protect Professional Certifications and Save Union Apprenticeships

FTI students

Brothers and Sisters:

IUPAT apprenticeships and your hard-earned professional credentials are in danger.

As you know, IRAPs directly threaten trainees currently enrolled in union-led programs as well as all members who have had IUPAT training in the past.

This is a Call to Action for all hands on deck to fight against anti-union operatives in Washington:

Click here to take action now.

This action is vital to our survival as building trades unions. We need to make every effort to gain as many IUPAT member comments and continue to show our strength when we put our “Feet on the Street.”

Brothers and Sisters – we need to take action against IRAPs NOW, and we’ve made it easy for you to do so. Watch this short tutorial from Director of Organizing Matt Trzaska and Glazier Instructor Matt Fox on how to send a comment directly to the Department of Labor.
