DC 21 Donates to Ronald McDonald House

DC 21 DONATES $60,000, HUNDREDS OF WORK HOURS TO RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE EXPANSION

DC 21 members attended the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of Ronald McDonald House’s new expansion in West Philadelphia. The campus now boasts an eight-story residence for families seeking medical treatment at one of the several area pediatric hospitals, in addition to a renovated administrative headquarters.

DC 21 donated $60,000 to the construction of Jill and Alan B. Miller Tower. The residence can now accommodate 127 families every night — nearly three times as many families as its old space. Members from DC 21 also volunteered in repairing walls and ceilings, installing glass doors and painting the 19th century historic mansion.

Ronald McDonald Houses Charities began in Philadelphia in 1974 as a low or no-cost housing option for seriously ill children and their families from around the world. The organization strives to lessen the financial burden faced by families by offering housing, meals, and child care.

Great job, DC 21!
